We took on Newborn Cascao Jiu Jitsu back in 2017. Our primary goal was branding on this one. Coach James really did not want to build the site into something huge. He actually wanted to keep the site extremely simple and just focus on Social Media instead. So that is what we did. The site has no blog and hardly any updates of any kind. The only things it does have is a calendar and a way to contact the gym. In the beginning he was getting about 2 contacts a month from his site. As of last year he was getting upwards of 60 per month. Why? Because instead of spending a lot of time on the site writing content we decided to work on his branding, social media and local citations. A lot of the credit has to go to James and the way he runs his business. Local citations work best when you getting 5 star reviews. That is exactly what he is getting.
What we changed on the site regarding SEO from 2017 to now is:
- We changed his site SEO from generic to locally based.
- We rewrote the titles to help attract more clicks.
In the beginning he was getting more impressions for MMA then Spokane Jiu Jitsu. Now he is getting the most impressions from “Jiu Jitsu Spokane”; about 50 a week. This is why his contacts went up so much from before. Now he is locating locals that want to train instead of people from all over the world.
Unfortunately, Google analytics don’t show you the number of people that contact the gym. The closest thing to seeing the number of people contacting him is his click through rate and how it has changed over the years. It has more than doubled. Which I guess explains why his kid’s classes are getting so large. 🙂
